An actual-play podcast focused on communal worldbuilding and having fun with friends. Our focus is using character-driven narratives to tell complex, emotional stories.

Season 1: Luume

Luume is a city-state where magic and technology are one in the same. Magic is a common feature of this world. Illusory ads play on billboards as the Guilds take manufactured magic and package it for sale to consumers. Brew tea by harnessing the power of sunlight. Drive a car with a fire elemental bound in the engine. Snap a prestidigitation pack to get yourself clean in the mornings. The Guilds call the shots. You are either working for them or you’re being stepped on in their march forward. Even the government, in the form of a parliament, bows to the wishes of the Guilds. The only thing opposing them is each other, as they scramble for market share. The landscape of Luume takes visual cues from Dickensian, London, with 1920s American and cyberpunk megacities as found in Blade Runner. It is a city that moves and writhes. Not like a living being, but like a machine. Gears are always turning, never stopping regardless of what falls on them as they go. This is how it has been for over a hundred years of progress, but the winds of change are beginning to blow….Groups of citizens, spurred on by charismatic leaders, are beginning to rise, despite the boot on their neck. Long dead gods pull at the strings while locked in shadow wars against Eldritch entities from beyond understanding. Most importantly, people are beginning to see the vast expanse between them and those at the top.

Season 2: The Bleed

What if the Fast and the Furious, but in Appalachia, but in space?Thousands of years ago, settlers left Earth for a distant star system to start a new life. They wanted to leave behind the rigid laws of their home and create something of their own. Something a little more free, a little more distant. A little more…entrepreneurial. They never expected their way back would be closed off, trapping them suddenly without any support. They made their life here, spreading through the star system and growing to fit these new niches they made for themselves. It didn’t take long for them to divide it up: the Core, the Mezzo, the Bleed. It took even less time for them to start taking advantage of each other. The civil war between the Core and the Bleed was inevitable, really. It’s been ten years since that war ended, and old wounds run deep. The Core patrols the Bleed to make sure they don’t get any ideas in their heads again, and the Bleed continues to be beholden to the various factions which have managed to scrape together some modicum of power. But someone is stirring the waters.Meanwhile, one ragtag group is just trying to make ends meet.

Season 3: Elder County, TN

Elder County, Tennessee. Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Home to a vibrant culture, and an even more vibrant people. It's also a place of shadows, hiding during the day, waiting for the sun to set, in a delicate balance of light and dark. These mountains are full of things that have been here since they were sharp, tall peaks. Some of the things were brought here by the many, many types of people that came to this land. Some of those things are themselves just people, doing their best to survive and hold on to what little that they have. Other things try to feed on those previous folk. It's all a cycle. There's something new, though. New to here, at least. It doesn't care about the balance. It wants what this place has. It wants to crack open these mountains, that are older than the idea of bone, and suck out the marrow until they're just a husk.
